The MEIKLE process

Good preparation.
Clear communication.

Every property is different. These six stages show how we bring the work together, from understanding your plans to reviewing the finished build.

The detail and timing depend on your project. Some design and pricing work may overlap as information becomes available.

  1. Stage 1

    Meeting & site appraisal

Start with what you want to achieve.

We discuss the property, your priorities and target budget, then arrange the information or site visit needed to understand the work.

    What helps from you
Your postcode, project ideas and any existing drawings or photographs.
    What this stage gives you
A clearer understanding of the options and what information is needed next.
  2. Stage 2

    Estimating & clear scope

    Know what is included.

We prepare a quotation around the agreed scope, setting out inclusions, exclusions, assumptions and details still to be confirmed.

    What helps from you
Your priorities and any decisions that affect the scope or specification.
    What this stage gives you
A written basis for reviewing the work and its price.
  3. Stage 3

    Information, design & programme

    Bring the preparation together.

We review drawings and structural information, coordinate relevant specialists where required, and agree the build stages and payment arrangements.

    What helps from you
Available drawings and approval information, plus any dates or access constraints.
    What this stage gives you
An agreed plan for the work, with responsibilities and outstanding decisions identified.
  4. Stage 4

    Kick-off & site setup

    Get the site ready.

We organise the access, materials, trade scheduling and site facilities included in the scope, so the practical arrangements are understood before work starts.

    What helps from you
Arrangements for access, parking and how you intend to use the property during the build.
    What this stage gives you
A prepared site and a clear point of contact for questions.
  5. Stage 5

    Leading the construction

    Keep the work coordinated.

We coordinate the agreed build stages, trades and inspections, with updates as the work develops. Questions and proposed changes are discussed with the project contact.

    What helps from you
Timely decisions on outstanding details and early notice of anything you want to change.
    What this stage gives you
Progress through the agreed scope, with changes and their implications discussed.
  6. Stage 6

    End inspection & handover

    Review the finished work together.

We walk through the work, address agreed snagging and bring together the relevant completion information and certificates. Any applicable guarantee is confirmed for your project.

    What helps from you
A walkthrough with us and any questions about the completed work.
    What this stage gives you
A clear record of completion information and any agreed follow-up items.
